The BIIAB Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner is aimed at people working with young children from birth to the age of five in early years settings in England. It also provides knowledge of children up to the age of seven. It is an occupational qualification suitable for people working in the following roles:
The qualification is designed to make up the component parts of the Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship for the Children and Young People’s Workforce in Wales.
The primary purpose of the qualification is to confirm occupational competence. The Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner can be studied as a standalone qualification but it also meets the mandatory component requirements of the Early Years Practitioner End-point Assessment.
