BIIAB Qualifications Limited has developed a new health and social care qualification – the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care.
The new qualification is approved by Skills for Care, the sector skills council for the health and social care sector, and opens for today.
Who is this qualification for?
The qualification is aimed at learners who work in adult social care and have responsibility for leading and managing a service. It is relevant to those who manage and improve care and support for those accessing the service; support and develop the workforce; and/or drive the vision for their service or organisation.
Primarily, the qualification aims to support the development of registered managers of adult social care services. It is particularly aimed at those who are new to their role.
What do learners gain?
Achievement of the qualification equips learners to hold the title of Registered Manager. The qualification content is linked to the Level 5 Diploma in Leading and Managing an Adult Care Service qualification criteria launched by Skills for Care in May 2021.
While the qualification is valuable in itself, it is also a mandatory part of the Level 5 Leader in Adult Care Apprenticeship.
Achievement of the qualification can also support progression to higher education.
Is funding available?
The qualification is on the Workforce Development Fund list of qualifications approved for funding of up to £1,500 to support personal development and career progression.
If the qualification is taken as part of an apprenticeship, then the total funding available is £2,000.
What other health and social care qualifications and apprenticeships are available?
BIIAB Qualifications Limited specialises in health and social care qualifications, offering a wide range of options for learners in different job roles and at different levels.
Other adult care qualifications include the Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (launched in January 2023) and the Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care. Learners can progress from the Level 3 Diploma to the Level 4 Diploma, and from the Level 4 Diploma to the new Level 5 Diploma.
BIIAB also offers end-point assessments for health and social care apprenticeship standards. This includes the Level 2 Adult Care Worker and Level 3 Lead Adult Care Worker standards.
